Applied Research and Workshop Programme

To examine needs on the ground through research, workshops and expert assessments, and to turn the findings into actionable project decisions, guides and pilot initiatives.

Overview

The need addressed

Institutions' experience needs to be focused on a shared question, views need to be linked to data, and meeting outcomes need to be turned into tasks with named owners.

TÜBİAD's role

Defines the research question and working method with partners; coordinates expert participation, workshop organisation and the transfer of decisions into the project process.

Work plan

Three work packages

Each project within the programme is designed around the following work packages; the people responsible for each work package and its delivery dates are set out in the project file.

  1. Work package 1

    Research and background

    The problem is examined through interviews, surveys and existing sources. A briefing file explaining the method and scope is prepared.

  2. Work package 2

    Workshop and solution design

    Participants are selected according to their expertise and practical experience. Solution options, priorities, resource needs and responsibilities are assessed together.

  3. Work package 3

    Putting results into practice

    Decisions are turned into project proposals, pilot implementations and guides. Knowledge sharing and progress are sustained through seminars and follow-up meetings.

Indicators

What do we monitor?

  • Workshop decisions turned into implementation or projects
  • Use of research findings in institutional decisions
  • Completion of tracked tasks and participant evaluation

Numerical targets for the indicators are set together with the scope and baseline measurement of each project.

Continuity and sustainability

For each piece of work, a person responsible for following up on decisions is appointed. New findings, institutional feedback and implementation results inform the next research agenda.

Who is responsible for what?

The programme is run within TÜBİAD's decision-making and reporting framework. Roles and resources are defined in writing for each project.

Decision and approval Board of Directors

Approves project decisions and the budget; reviews the programme as part of portfolio reviews.

Programme coordination Research and Strategy Directorate

To support decisions and projects with reliable findings.

Design and resources Project Development and Funding Programmes Directorate

Manages the project file, the resource plan and support calls together with the programme's coordinating directorate.

Monitoring and reporting General Secretariat

Tracks the timetable, decision records and periodic reports, and presents progress to the Board of Directors.

How can you contribute to this programme?

The business community, associations, foundations, universities, ministries and public institutions can take part in the programme with their own expertise and capacity. Contributions can be defined as expert time, technical capacity, field access, a venue or financial support.
